I Don’t Want to be Your Ghost

Posted in Digital Video, Music Video on June 25th, 2006

A few weeks ago, we spent a couple days shooting a music video for the song “I Don’t Want to be Your Ghost” by MeatDraw. The final mix of the song should be in my hands tomorrow. It will be released on their upcoming album within the next few weeks.

They were a great bunch to work with. A lot of fun.
I got to experiment with a make-shift greenscreen, for some Hitchcock-esque campy driving shots. Mike Demers and Vince Lombardi helped with the lighting and camerawork. We parked the old Polara in the driveway, with green fabric set up behind the windows, and jumped up and down on the bumper to make the car rock. I wonder what the neighbours thought. Ridiculous.

Here’s a pic from the shoot, the video should be available on the web after the album is released via Self Righteous Records.

Inhalant Stew, part 2

So, it didn’t quite go as planned. On the first run of the chemically manipulated film, the projector jammed, made a symphony of clickitty clackitty screams and thunks, and finally chewed up the film and spit it out. Damn.

So I set up the tripod and rigged up some splicers to hold the film over the light table while I took photos.

One frame at a time.

I wish I had a macro lens.

It’s not ot the most time-efficient technique, but I like the outcome. this is a clip from a 16mm film called “A Fish for all Seasons,” chemically contaminated and digitally altered.
